Sorry I meant to get back to you yesterday already. I have checked with Seattle and the reason for the cancellation/ postponing of the 5th March Acadamy is due to the cabins being used for other personal. You might have heard of the incident with the Costa ship and since then all Cruise companies are increasing their staffing of Deck officers to ensure for even more safety onboard. We don’t expect any more cancellation and unfortunately there wasn’t another Academy course planned for March. In the event that Seattle advises us that they would require any additional Stewardesses for March we will offer it o you, which could be a different vessel then the Odyssey.
 
I have some good news for you, Seattle has agreed to pay compensation for this cancellation. You will get a so called standby pay as from the 5th March until joining. Condition of these would be that you have to be travel ready from the 5th March and available to go at short notice in the event that a position becomes available.‘Standby Pay’ will be paid to you, backdated with your first salary onboard the vessel.
 
For now I will include you in the 2nd  April Academy, we will bring you forward if an opportunity arises.
